Help Bring the Debut Annie Booth Big Band Album to Life!
About the Album
The making of this album is a huge moment for me, and one that has been many years in the works. I began writing big band music in earnest seven years ago, when I formed the Annie Booth Big Band. Since then, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to write extensively for large jazz ensemble and to hear my music performed by ensembles around the world.
Now, for the first time, I’m bringing this body of work together for the making of my debut large jazz ensemble album this fall, and I’m inviting you to be part of the process.
The Annie Booth Big Band is a diverse, multigenerational 18-piece jazz orchestra with deep roots in Denver’s music community. For this recording, I’m also thrilled to welcome several extraordinary, Grammy-winning musicians from around the country to Denver, each bringing their own distinctive voice to the album. And I’m beyond excited that this will be produced by award-winning composer/producer, Alan Baylock.
This album represents both a culmination of the music I’ve created with this band over the past seven years and an exciting next chapter for us!
Our Goal: $20,000
I’m funding this album through a combination of grant support, my own investment, and the generosity of participants like you. Together, these resources will allow us to fairly compensate the incredible musicians bringing this music to life and support the studio, production, post-production, and manufacturing costs required to make the record.
What You’ll Experience as a Participant
Through your support of this campaign, you’ll have a front-row seat to the making of the Annie Booth Big Band’s debut album, from all of our preparations to the finished record!
Along the way, I’ll share behind-the-scenes glimpses into my score editing and preparation, rehearsals with the band, and the days leading up to our studio sessions. Some of you will even have the opportunity to join us in the studio and experience the magic of recording process firsthand!
And the journey doesn’t end when we finish tracking in October. I’ll bring you along through the editing, mixing, and mastering process as the music takes its final shape. As a participant, you’ll also be among the very first to hear the finished album and receive your digital download, CD, or vinyl, depending on your level of support.
Your Role
Your participation plays a meaningful role in bringing this album to life. Whether you join us as a Supporter or an Executive Producer, you’re doing much more than simply helping fund a recording. You’re helping make it possible for this music, and this band, to be documented and shared with the world. You’re helping make ambitious art possible.
I’m so excited to invite you into this next chapter of the Annie Booth Big Band, and I can’t wait to share the journey with you. Thank you, thank you!
